A Trio of Cables

A Trio of Cables

Like many in the craft world, I am finding myself with more home knitting time these days, and that’s a pretty great thing amidst all that is going on with COVID-19. Not only am I making headway on projects, but the mere act of knitting is significantly reducing my stress levels during this crazy time. That, and viewing a healthy dose of lighthearted apocalyptic movies, such as “Mars Attacks” and “Sean of the Dead” is just what the doctor ordered.

My recent project is the Trio of Braids Cowl (working title) pattern , which I am knitting in the ultra dreamy Fourteen by Juniper Moon Farm. This is a fluffy, chainette yarn made of merino and cashmere (yum!). The label recommends US sizes 7 & 9 needles for a DK to Aran gauge, but I went off book (or label, as it were) and took it to a bulky 3.5 sts/inch on US 10.5’s. And it – is – GORGEOUS! I think it would also be fabulous in Woolfolk’s Luft. Of course, I am using Crystal Palace Bamboo (9″ single points), which just adds to the awesome hand appeal and overall delight of the process.

I hope to have this pattern – cowl and scarf versions – available on Ravelry soon.
