Put the Needle on the Record

Put the Needle on the Record

I am a collector of yarn. Bins, tote bags, baskets and boxes full of yarn are stashed around the house. But I can get away with it. Why? Because my husband collects vinyl records with equal enthusiasm. He has over 1,000 records, all neatly displayed in a 18-drawer system our awesome contrator-friend Tommy built. I love records, too, and we listen to them a lot.

Last year was the first annual Local Yarn Store Day, which fell on the same day as the popular Record Store Day. What were the chances? I had to do something to commemorate both loves. So, I knitted a record! Then I knitted another. Then I did a 45 version. Then crochet. Then I crocheted a whole turntable (complete with Crystal Palace Bamboo “needle”, of course). Sometimes when inspiration strikes, you get giddy with excitement and you can’t seem to move fast enough. It’s a great ride, and I love when that happens.
